Dear Fire and Rescue Executive,

The third annual ‘International Conference for Fire & Rescue Executives’ will take place in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from April 29th to May 1st. The conference theme is “Leadership in Critical Times” and the conference will be hosted by Chief John McKearney and the Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services. The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia and Canadian Professional Management Services will be among the sponsors of this year’s event.

“Leadership in Critical Times” will highlight the importance of exhibiting in difficult times and the leadership skills you brought to the position of Chief. It is your success in leading in tough conditions that will make or break your career. An international roster of keynote speakers and panel members will share their personal experiences with a variety of issues every fire and rescue executive will face at some point in their career.

The 2012 Conference will highlight key issues that senior fire and rescue executives wrestle with day by day and week by week. Speakers will leave you with specific strategies to shape your career in times of crisis. You will hear suggestions for addressing issues relating to internal leadership, labour relations, organizational structure, and executive influence. These are the topics that fire and rescue executives must pay attention to if they are to survive in today’s volatile environment.

Each day will end with a session providing delegates with an open forum to interact with the day’s presenters and to hear firsthand the issues they face within their own organization.

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver, British Columbia!

Yours truly,
